My old air conditioner has a temperature knob that unfortunately was broken to pieces due to old age, just a few weeks ago. I know it would be almost impossible to find the identical replacement knob locally or through the manufacturer, neither did have the time to be driving up and down looking for a replacement knob for an old air conditioner.. so as usual anytime I need something that might be unavailable elsewhere: the first place I checked is Amazon.com. And sure enough I saw these knobs. I ordered them and in no time they arrived at my house. It certainly fitted on my air conditioner shaft without a problem, and I was very happy not having to use the pliers anymore to rotate temperature knob. There’s one catch to this particular knob, it will fit almost any “knob shaft” like it’s name implies, but as far as the orientation marks on the knob, lining up with the corresponding marks on the appliance, that will definitely be dependent on “luck” or chance, since every manufacturer of appliances have the flat spot on their shaft according to design. Therefore there is no guarantee that orientation marks you see on these knobs will necessarily line up with the pointer for the markings on your appliance. In my case they did not line up,but nonetheless I added my own marks that corresponds to the new orientation, since I was mainly looking for just a knob to turn the AC shaft to the different temperature level, and this little does that fine. You can’t have your cake and eat it,this is a generic knobs, so it’s name doesn’t really imply the reality of it capability;s full functionality, but will wprk in most if not all cses in replacing an appliance knob.

The knob is only suited for appliances where the shaft you are attaching the knob to extends beyond the surface where the knob seats. It includes a set screw for gripping the shaft and you might need access to tighten the set screw when seated on the shaft. My AC unit has a recessed shaft that this knob could not reach. So useless. Fitz all needs to develop an extension tube that could be cut to size and fit on their knob and a recessed shaft to make this truly a fit all product.Fitz All 1345 appliance knobs.

Nice little knobs, two in a pack. 1 1/8″ diameter x 5/8″ high. The hole is actually a round hole 1/4″ in diameter, so if you need a knob for a 1/4″ square shaft (like I did), you’ll need to enlarge it. I drilled it to 3/8″ and then it worked well.
